Established in January 2023, the Blue Ridge Mountain Association of PAs (BRMAPA) is a regional chapter of the North Carolina Association of PAs (NCAPA).

Aleece Fosnight, PA-C
PRESIDENT
She/Her/Hers
MSPAS, PA-C, CSC-S, CSE, NCMP, IF, HAES
Founder, owner, and director of the Fosnight Center for Sexual Health, Aleece Fosnight, MSPAS, PA-C, CSC-S, CSE, NCMP, IF, HAES is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in sexual medicine. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2011 and completed a postgraduate certificate in sexual health counseling and education from the University of Michigan Sexual Health Certificate Program in 2014.
She is a nationally certified sex counselor/supervisor and educator through AASECT. Aleece is an LGBTQIA+, BDSM/kink-aware, trauma-informed professional, and HAES® provider. As a NAMS Menopause Certified Practitioner, Aleece also evaluates and treats women through the menopause transition. Her expertise includes pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, low libido in men and women, interstitial cystitis, menopause transition, effects of cancer and cancer treatments on sexuality, pregnancy/postpartum sexuality, female sexual health, transgender medicine, low testosterone, Peyronie’s disease, and erectile difficulties including erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and delayed ejaculation.
Aleece routinely presents at local, state, and national organizations. She is currently the chair of the SMSNA APP committee, the chair of the ISSWSH Membership Outreach Committee, and the chair of the NCAPA Regional Chapter Committee.

Dr. Nicole Drake, PA-C
VICE PRESIDENT

Dr. Nicole Drake joined Wingate University's PA program in 2014 where she served as a faculty member on the clinical team for 5 years. After a brief return to clinical practice in 2019, she rejoined Wingate's PA program faculty in August 2021 with a didactic focus teaching Patient Assessment, Dermatology, Pulmonary, Orthopedics, and Nutrition. Prior to joining academia, she worked clinically as a PA in the areas of Primary care (Family Practice and Urgent Care), Gastroenterology, and Breast oncology. She is originally from Michigan where she got her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Michigan State University, and then Masters of Science in Medicine and PA degree from Western Michigan University. Most recently, she received her Doctor of Medical Science from A.T. Still University with a focus in Clinical Leadership.

Dr. Chrystyna Senkel, PA-C

Chrystyna graduated from UT Southwestern’s PA Program in 1998. For eight years post-graduation, she worked in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, and/or Urgent Care. In 2006, she took a position in Bariatric Surgery. In addition to providing the pre-and post-operative care of bariatric patients, she also spearheaded certifications, collected and analyzed patient outcomes data and research, coordinated the patient services program, marketed the practice to community physicians, and facilitated the monthly patient support group. She also served as a national proctor and speaker for Allergan, focusing on teaching medical providers the art of LapBand adjustments and follow-up care. In 2014, she left clinical practice and entered academia at the University of North Texas Health Science Center PA Program. She remained working part-time in Internal Medicine and Urgent Care. In 2017, she moved to rural east Tennessee to teach at Lincoln Memorial University’s PA Program. While there, she completed her Doctor of Medical Science degree and served as the Director of OSCE and SIM and later the Director of Clinical Education. She also created and facilitated a support group to enhance didactic and clinical phase student wellness. In August of 2021, she moved to Tryon, NC so she could be a part of the Wingate PA Program faculty and serve as the Clinical Coordinator in Hendersonville. Over the years, she has taught and directed Physical Exam Skills and Clinical Transitions courses and Dermatology, Gastroenterology, and HEENT clinical medicine courses. She has spoken to audiences of students and peers at numerous state PA conferences in Texas, Tennessee, and North Carolina regarding Bariatric Surgery, Interpretation of LFTs, and Vertigo.

Taylor Fischer, PA-C
TREASURER
Taylor received his Masters of Medical Science degree from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC in 2009. After graduation, Taylor entered the US Air Force, where he provided primary care services to our nation's war fighters and their families. Following an honorable discharge in 2012, he moved to Asheville NC where he worked in Urgent Care medicine until 2015. Since then, he has worked in education, teaching medical procedures, patient assessment skills, medical diagnostics, and a variety of modules in clinical medicine. Taylor is married with two children. His wife Rebecca is also a Physician Assistant and regular preceptor for Wingate PA students.

Natalia Chela, PA-S1
FIRST YEAR STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE
She/Her/Hers
Natalia Chela is originally from a rural town in Northern Michigan where she grew up and learned to love medicine. Natalia grew up in a family full of healthcare professionals and knew at an early age that she wanted a future in medicine. She then moved to Western North Carolina for PA school and has fallen in love with the beauty of the mountains, weather, and people. Natalia looks forward to her future as a Physician Assistant and serving those in Western North Carolina with special attention to the rural communities. In her free time, she likes to hike, swim, and take her dog, Melon, to the dog parks here

Emma Wagner, PA-S2
SECOND YEAR STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE
She/Her/Hers
Emma Wagner is a clinical year PA student at Wingate University. She has lived in several other states before moving here for school, but the Blue Ridge mountains feel like home to her. Emma has been interested in medicine ever since her first biology class freshman year of high school. Her grandmother is the only other person in the healthcare field, and she has been Emma’s inspiration every day. Before PA school, she was a CNA and a telemetry tech on the med surge floor, where she gained a much greater appreciation of patient-centered care and our roles as healthcare providers.
